It depends on the type of installation, the environment it is in, and how it is used. Typically for most workplaces testing is recommended every 3-5 years.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) should at the very least be carried out every 5 years for commercial properties and 3 years for industrial.
Commercial electrical installations should be tested more often if they are in a corrosive or wet environment; if they are used for heating, cooling, or production processes; or if they are subject to frequent surges or voltage fluctuations.
Additionally, any time there is a change in use, occupancy, or ownership of the property, we’d recommend one of our commercial electricians should come and test the installation.
